HighPointe started out as Lasma East Arabian Horse Centre, the anchor farm for the 5000 acre L'Esprit development that was zoned in 1983.
Originally covering 734 acres, the farm has since undergone significant development and the addition of new facilities as well as a switch from Arabian horses to Throughbreds after a slump in the Arabian horse industry during the 1980s.
In 1998, 440 acres of Lasma East Arabian Horse Centre was sold to investment banker Ken Haggard and legendary trainer Jack Van Berg. The farm then became known as HighPointe Farm and Training Center and focused solely on Thoroughbred training. Under this ownership, the 6-furlong and uphill tracks were installed giving HighPointe a total of three separate work surfaces.
During this time HighPointe was host to winners of triple crown races: 2010 Kentucky Derby Winner: Supersaver, 2010 Belmont Stakes: Drosselmeyer, 2011 Preakness: Shackelford, and, the 2010 Breeders Cup Classic Winner, Drosselmeyer.
HighPointe was sold to its current owners in late 2021. Since then, the uphill polytrack has undergone a half-a-million dollar complete resurface and renovation, large scale repairs to the main dirt track as well as arena upgrades are underway as on Summer 2023.
